Message from Tracy Hoeg:
Progress: $1,700 Goal: $1,700
In January 2012, I will going to Honduras with my husband and two sons. I will be working as an ophthalmologist-in-training volunteer with Unite for Sight. I will help screen patients for eye diseases and decreased vision and refer them, when appropriate, to further treatment or surgery performed by volunteer ophthalmologists.
Unite for Sight works with extremely poor populations in Honduras, Ghana and India, who normally would not have access to these sight-saving surgeries (let alone glasses, which they also provide!). For me, it will be a huge privilege to work with this organization.
All volunteers must raise at least $1700 to participate. This money does not go to me or my flight. This money goes directly to Unite for Sight to help fund the care they provide.
Even small donations are hugely appreciated.
If you would rather participate in a 5k, half marathon or marathon in Denmark and donate that way, please visit this website (coming soon), send me an email or write me a message through Facebook.
